Piano to Prayer

Asking God what and why about homeschooling
seems to be the only way
to discern between all of the
information to STUFF into these young, hungry minds.

Photobucket

From piano,
to prayer,
there's much in between.

Photobucket

But may the between
mean something.

Photobucket

May it spur their minds to seek what He has for them.

Photobucket

May it cause a fountain of salvation to spring up inside of them and not be contained.

Photobucket

May the between make memories of family,
learning,
freinds,
and Jesus.

1 Cor 10:31
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Just We Chickens

The Schoolhouse tried to add some new, live blood with the addition of Student and Warrior's earthworm habitats, but this life addition was short-lived.

 Photobucket

On the other hand, the presentation of Mr. Brandon and his 2000 red worm wrigglers brought much excitement to the Schoolhouse! And he assured the pupils that if their first worms didn't make it, he'd kindly replenish their supply with living ones.

For now, Warrior spends time with the living chickens. What is left of them, we mean.
2 down, and 2 to go!

Photobucket

There's time taken for the blue classroom, praying for Afghanistan this week as reading always seems to happen EVERYWHERE for Student. As she began Heidi this week, her list of classics-read is continuing to grow!

Photobucket

In addition to reading, Student is avidly working her brain to finish her review in Mathematics, penpal letters, health and dictation.

Warrior, finished his mathematics review, reading, grammar, and geography vocab only motivated by puzzle time! Papa D visited and assisted in it's tedious 750 piece connacting...to be continued.

Titus 3:3-7
At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Hitting the Books

Onward ho for the 2012-2013 school year!
With older pupils and a new little miracle on the way,
we have mapped out our 15 weeks of school prior to the little bundle's arrival!
Along with running,
through the day and on the track,
Mascot is training right along with Warrior for football,
and Student for cross country.

Our curriculum this year, in addition to the Abeka regulars,
My Father's World has been gifted to us and the Schoolhouse is feeling so blessed by it.

Organization of multiple grades doesn't come easily to Teacher,
but is much simpler with all that is set for the daily learning.
This is specifically designed for pupils in a one-room-schoolhouse
arrangement to do age-appropriate learning, together!
And Biblicaly-based science has never excited the pupils like this!
Earthworm habitats to come SOON!

For now,
Student and Warrior mapped out their observations of weather,
sounds and sights
in their backyard habitat this week.

Photobucket

This is one of the rare events in the backyard that prospered
because of the lack of grass!

Photobucket

Thanks be to the Lord, He who lavishes us with His love.
Hoping to update weekly, the Schoolhouse 27 is signing out til next week.

Tuesday Pays

Life is learning.

Photobucket

Having known this before beginning the homeschooling adventure,
it is only highlighted through our time in the classroom together.

Photobucket

Photobucket

But it is not there that learning stops.

Photobucket

No, outside of these four blue walls,
learning continues.

Even at the Fabric Shop when your name is Warrior and you decide to CLEAN teh bolt of black batik fabric with 13 dollar soap that is waiting to be bought.

Photobucket

Learning to the tune of two weeks of extra chores and just under $60. Yep. Life is learning.

Photobucket

Mascot takes a turn learning at the church carnival. He knows how to make learning fun!

As for the motivation to learn...Student chooses sour straws today!

Photobucket

Monday Clarity

If there's one thing set straight on this Monday morning at the Homeschool...

Photobucket

Teacher thinks it'd be the lack of clothing...

Photobucket

and haircuts in this place.

However, beginning with hot apple cider, Teacher thinks it is all bearable.

Photobucket

Speaking of Mondays, Student and Warrior are brushing up their Christopher Columbus knowledge with a few poems prior to the Holiday next week.

Photobucket

Warrior reads to earn computer tokens.

Photobucket

And even lets Mascot look on!

Photobucket

Finishing up the newly-learned skill of addition,
Warrior joins Student for a walk in the rain as Mascot naps.

Photobucket

As for Teacher, the day ends with quilting!
Sew and sew some more.

Photobucket
For she makes coverings for her bed. Prov 31:22

Friday Coop Class

Yes, this semester of coop class
has brought many blessings
to the Homeschool.

Student has seen God answer prayers for friends.
Warrior has bigger boys to tackle.
And Mascot gets more Teacher-time!

Thank you, Lord for the home-educators that came before
and those that you will call after us.

May You get the glory.

Photobucket

Thursday Catch-Up

Those days when so much is accomplished,

Photobucket

in spite of one's efforts...

Photobucket

proof there is a God!

And He cares about every detail of our lives!

As for the truth of life,
others aren't always thankful for the effort of others.

Photobucket

Yes, Warrior is trying to record that Teacher, aka mom,
is rude. Yes, you read it right!

And still, learning and life go on.

Photobucket

Mascot still likes trucks and books.

Photobucket

And Student still trusts Teacher for her Table of Contents knowledge,

Photobucket

and gives attention to her concordance as a reliable student should.

Photobucket

Not by a standard of perfection, does the Homeschool succeed,
but by a standard of GRACE.

Photobucket

And cross country running...that's the secret recipe for sanity, in a day at the Homeschool!
