Tuesday Games

Spring continues, as Teacher looks for summer.

Oh may the Lord above bring motivation and the realization that we are held accountable for that which He has given us, and giving children to parents to teach, is a lifelong commitment that starts EVERY morning.



Sickness brings kleenexes and games into the homeschool today.





Thanks to The Father for His steadfast love.

Monday Before

Begin, and then begin, again.

it's not even a disaster!



This kid is counting by two's!



Skip counting is a fun, new but strange voyage for Warrior. He's hooked.

Back to the familiar, review on musical families.



Also in the Fine Arts, Student leaps into contour drawing. She set up the still-life and caught the action on paper!



Ending work with play, Warrior's bed proved to be a great card table.

Monday, Monday

Bright and early.
Yes, Monday has arrived.

Finding focus with fabric,
Warrior keeps his Reading straight
and organized.



Transforming for super-time
with Principal,
Warrior creates some paper airplanes.



And, getting his share,
Mascot takes over the empty spot
after the rush clears.



Who let Student sleep in, anyway?

Monday Before

Before spring break comes,
there should be self-disciplined teachers
and students completing the
lessons in their planners...

When given the choice of reading or laundry,
Student chose reading...first.



Choices, choices...these are the things of life.

As for Warrior,
he put on a smile and his thinking cap to complete a puzzle BEFORE reading.



Teacher is delighted in the differences that God instilled in each of them when knitting them together. As reading usually comes first for Student, Warrior would rather get some fist-pumping action on with each puzzle-piece that connects!
Hulk style, of course!

Among his other assignments, Warrior chose to peek ahead in his self-led Art projects. Since he is a summer baby, he anxiously is awaiting the coming of the next season and his birthday. So, in spirit of SUMMER, here's Uncle Sam!



And what's that bushy beard one may ask?

Teacher's stash of poly stuffing makes all things great!



Surviving seatwork, Student is rather encouraged by the tidbits of information in
Math as she began the World Unit.



And with eyes on the spring break prize, Student journals of her excitement to leave the campus!



Lord, grant us the patience to complete the task at hand, with all our might, as we await our roadtrip. Amen.

Tuesday Snow

How best to start a snowy morning when most local schools have canceled?



Breakfast with Principal.



And fulfilling the dreams of a girl and her desire for her doll:
The Making of Rebecca's church dress.



And sending Mascot into space, even though the clouds created a difficult launch...



And because God has given the opportunity to NOT have school when the day arises with other duties and blessings, the choice was to continue our learning on this, a snow day.

Even though others wanted to sew straight through the day, we tried to remind ourselves to do everything without complaining, but sometimes faces showed it...



Sit-ups and stretches in P.E. have become a group activity, as Mascot tries his hand at them.



And also taking a hand from Student and Warrior, he accomplishes 5 sit-ups!



The Homeschool was determined to find something to use as a weight for our marching through the orchard game, but resolved not to use Mascot's recommendation of an apple sauce jar.



Contiuing Cursive visual recognition and Writing for Warrior, the 26 letter-long journey is only 6 letters along.



Taking time also for snowday gaming, Warrior continues his latest love of crazy eight cards.



God is good, so good to us. May He grant that these children would learn responsibility, for each should carry his own load. Galatians 6:5 Teacher soooo could have stayed ikn bed, but may He bless our work, all the work of our hands, indeed. Amen.

Monday Inspiration

Truly, the presence of Principal brings a whole new dynamic to the Homeschool. What a treat today! His being home from running a half marathon with Teacher was both for mental and physical recovery. However, it's the time shared that brings unity in the Homeschool.

Each of the kiddos had time to spend just with Principal.

Mascot read a book, or two.



Warrior colored his Bible Seatwork with the help of Principal's TWO hands. He's ambidextious and can color a page in no time!



Student got away from campus and through the woods to witness the falling rain and the presence of God's love surrounding her time with Principal.



Other than these special times, games kept Warrior busy. Go fish, matching, Yatzee, or Dotzee so he says.



The Homeschool prayed their Prayer for America today. These states included Maine and Maryland. Student guided Warrior in locating these on the map, and he used his Phonics skills to sound out which was which!

Mascot, just wanted to be in the middle of the action!

And that diligent Student began another unit in Health and continued in Spelling. A few new words that brought her trouble were:
ugly
hungry
skunk

So, she played CHAIN the WORD on the magnet board for extra practice! Test to come soon!

Reading and summarizing in her journal, Student says there isn't much to say about Saint Mary Magdelene. She was a friend of Jesus, and she was there with Him ...through much. What a friend. Oh, if we can learn to be a good friend to those God puts in our path, this would be a lesson worth learning at the Homeschool, indeed!

Final Friday

In the words of James 1:27

True religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

At the Homeschool, the attempt to focus on the practice of this true religion comes on Final Friday of each month.

Down the street to sweet Miss Margaret's home, rolled the Homeschool parade!



This colorful card and caramel apple wrapped in sunflower paper were delivered with love. Student and Warrior colored her day with true religion, as she colored ours with kindness. Everything else on Friday seemed to be not-so-full of life! Really, since Miss Margaret turned 90 this past summer, she really knows how to work those spiritual gifts,
and she is a BIG BLESSING to all of those around her.



Prize fishing on Fridays, both kiddos were able to catch a glow-in-the-dark outer space puzzle of 100 pieces each. Student was determined to get it together and matte it asap...and so she did!



Student also jumped right into the teaching role as she assisted Warrior with his counting. These repetitive exercises have only proven tiresome for Teacher, thus far. Warrior just keeps on chipping away and his brain keeps soaking it up! Praise God for boys who sit and learn for 20 minutes at a time!



Switching library day to Friday this week, Mascot tried out his newly acquired walking skills at the play area. Right past the fence and in with the chickens...that boy is unstoppable!

Welcome Autumn!

Thursday marked a new season from the Lord.

Autumn has arrived, and so have the friends,
tie-dyed shirts,
and caramel apples!

P-A-R-T-Y!









In between projects, theys ran wild!

Captian Tuesday

Really, so much happens in a DAY...a DAY is like a 1000 years to us, but to God...the opposite is true! Teacher sees the potential each new morning, for a busy schedule, and finds herself trying to do it ALL!
NEWSFLASH to the Homeschool:
This is the day the Lord has made, even IF Student posts an angry-eye-brow drawing with NO MOMS ALLOWED on her door...

It was JUST handwriting...that's all...according to Teacher. But for Student who sees little value in handwriting, but loves to create, she would rather write a poem with her mouth and record it with her iPod. But, alas, the things we do NOT love, will appear and we must learn not to detour from the path which God has called us to, just because what we do NOT love is among us.

Her poem as follows:
I pulled my tooth!
Today I wake up with all my teeth,
but I will go to n
bed missing one!
Was it a thief
no it was me
I wiggled, and pulled and bled, I am done!

It was God who refocused the Homeschool on teeth both on paper AND in Student's mouth! Health taught both Warrior and Student the importance of maintaining teeth health, and promoting strong teeth with good food choices.



Student didn't keep herself upset, she opted to complete her work so her hands could continue their delight in handwork. Onto the mermaid, her ocean scene is growing!



Warrior on the other hand, was sure that Student wanted to play. So they did a little of that between lessons, too. And Mascot appreciated their sharing capabilities.



Warrior expanded his Handwriting to connect the letters to words to sentences. We keep reminding him that numbers can't spell because they don't have a phonetic sound. And he's getting it, and asking MANY questions! Eager beaver!



Reading the latest score from the local library, Captain Raptor brought new and exciting vocab to Warrior's life! It's all about rhetoric...and the comic book layout, of course.

this is the story of how dinosaurs loaded up their spaceship to check out the humans that landed on their moon. Good stuff!
